This is more an irritation than a real problem. Every time I start the computer, the Wippien Network Adapter appears as a "Unidentified" so it defaults to it being a public network, thereby disabling file sharing. So I can remedy it by just setting it to be private but it resets to public every time I restart. So my question is, is there a way to make it identified?

Chris, to be honest, I don't know I didn't see such cases. Does it have static IP set? Kreso

Yea it's got a static ip and subnet mask, the ip being the ip that shows up on the wippien client and the mask being 255.0.0.0 **Edit: I had this problem with some recent versions of hamachi too, but I'm not too sure what they did to fix it.

I've now noticed that the adapter says "Limited Connectivity" also, however I'm not able to confirm at the moment whether or not wippien is actually functioning properly.

This all sounds like his static IP is not set at all. If you go to network connections and look at adapter properties, what iP does it have?

Like I said before, the IP is set to be the same IP that appears in the wippien client.

Ok new question to go along with the first. Why is it that when I created a second account (a new @wippien.com id), I was assigned the same IP address as the first account? **Edit: I logged onto both accounts on two different computers and added the second account as a contact to the first account. At some point during accepting the request, the second account was assigned a new IP address. Just thought that was an interesting little tid bit of info. Well in regards to my first inquiry, after a couple restarts, the "Unidentified" Wippien Network adapter is now saying "local only" so I'm fairly certain it's working properly, again the only annoyance is that, in Vista, the network always shows up as "unidentified network".

Same IP? But that cannot be. I can check in mediator database, but I am sure different IP is assigned. Can you give me some exact info? What JID and what IPs? If you don't want to post it here, send it to support - at - wippien.com Kreso
